John May, Living Sand artist / sculptor, was recently selected as one of 12 regional artists to participate in "Gator Glam", a juried art exhibit in honor of Sawgrass Mills' 20th Anniversary. Each artist was given a raw, 7-foot-tall, fiberglass alligator sculpture to transform into a unique work of art. John's theme was a sand sculpture on Fort Lauderdale Beach entitled, "There's A Gator On The Beach" complete with a replica of the famous Fort Lauderdale beach wall, sand sculpting tools and seashells. This creative, sand-covered reptile was awarded 3rd place in the overall competition and will be auctioned for charity on October 7th.
